Jacyln Zimmerman, and Erin Vermeersch. The PSG Club is very thankful to these

Michigan Gators/Nova place 3 teams in State Cup Finals. Have 1 in
Finals of Ford Cup
Out of 5 age groups where we placed a team in the State Cup tournament.
Three Michigan Gator teams have survived to the Finals. Congratulations
to the U13 team with Jeff Hodgson as the coach; the U16 team with Jeremy
Harkins; and the U17 team with Coach Ron Clarke.
On the Nova side, we placed 2 teams in the Ford Cup Semi-Finals with
1 of them making it through to the Finals. Congratulations are in order
for Coach Henry Steinwascher and his U12 Nova boys.
It must be noted that 7 of 8 teams which
entered the tournament made it to the Semi-Finals. That was unprecedented
in the history of the Michigan Gators/Nova soccer Club. Teams which
made it through to the semi-finals included Neil Mcgill's U15 team,
Coach Jeremy Harkin's U14 team, and Coach Henry Steinwascher's U11
Nova team.
This is an amazing result for a Club which has only been in existence
for 6 years. The Finals will be held October 14-15th. If you can make
it, come on out and support the teams. They love to play with a crowd
watching.
Gators 96 Orange Two Time Champs at Mead CUSA Cup
The Michigan Gators FC 96 Orange team returned to Dayton, OH, Sept 2-4,
2006, as the reigning champs to claim the 2006 title of the Girls U11
Five Star Division playing 11 v 11.
After coming off of a shoot-out victory in the
Cincinnati, OH Arsenal Challenge Cup, the U11 girls kept the ball moving
right through Dayton to claim the Mead CUSA Cup Championship.
The team qualified for the final round after their second game by defeating
their Arsenal Cup championship match opponent, Ohio Premier Green, once
more (1-0), sealing their place in the Mead CUSA Cup finals.
Playing the strong and tall Cleveland United team
in the championship game, the Gator girls worked hard and moved the
ball with precision while playing tough defensively to end the game
and overtime period scoreless. Their
tenacity, skills and teamwork throughout the game led them into the penalty
kick shoot-out where the poised and determined squad secured their 2006
Championship title with finality.
The U11 Gators 96 Orange team, ranked number one by NSR in the U.S.
Club Soccer Region II, will now turn their attention to their MYSL and
MCL league play.
Congratulations Gators 96 Orange!
U15 Gators Blue finish first at Midland Fusion Invitational
The U15 Gator Blue team battled past teams ranked in higher Michigan
Premier divisions to finish first in the Midland Fusion Invitational
August 27, 2006. The girls did not let the soggy weather stop them from
finishing their pre-season on a high note. The girls ended their 3-0-1
record by scoring 9 and only giving up 1.
The great defensive play helped
keep the opposition out while consistent passing allowed the girls to
keep the ball in the offensive field during most of the competition.
This could only have been accomplished by the great team work and commitment
the girls have given to each other to take this team to the level they
are at today. They are looking forward to more endings like this throughout
their State Cup and league competitions. Congratulations Girls!
U11 Gators Orange Crowned Arsenal
Challenge Cup Champs
After an exhilarating game and
overtime period, the U11 Gators Orange team bettered the Ohio Premier
Green squad on the fifth shot of a post-overtime shootout to be crowned
Champions.
The Gators 96 team came to the Arsenal Challenge Cup
tournament, August 19-20, 2006, ready to play smart and hard with over
50 hours of pre-season training on their cleats, much of it provided
by team trainer Falah Hassan. Coach Gary Maccagnone guided the tenacious
squad through the weekend bringing them into the final match undefeated.
At the Awards Presentation, with a long-standing coaching
kinship, Coach Macc and Ohio Premier Coach Chris Baer expressed their
respect for each other’s teams and their organization’s commitment
to provide outstanding youth soccer programs.
Congratulations to the Gators 96 Orange team!
U12
Gators Ranked 4th in Country after Winning Sycamore Invitational
The U12 Gator Orange team came out of nowhere to win the
prestigious Sycamore Invitational, stunning the field by defeating many
of the nation's top teams. Coach Jeff Hodgson's squad turned in a gritty
effort, combining tough defensive play, with an interior passing game
reminiscent of all great Gator teams. "We had a good weekend," Hodgson
said after the game, playing down his teams high level performance. "I'm
happy with their effort but we have a long way to go. We can get a lot
better," he added.
